Job Functions

Assessment Skills: Perform thorough and accurate assessments, delivering patient care appropriate for all growth stages.
Clinical Skills: Demonstrate competent clinical skills and provide direct patient care, supporting patient care delivery and the team concept.
Documentation: Maintain complete and accurate documentation, ensuring all components of the nursing process and patient progress are recorded.
Professionalism: Uphold professional practice responsibility by adhering to policies and procedures and identifying areas for clinical and professional growth.
Patient Satisfaction: Respond to patients, families, and co-workers professionally and courteously, promoting a patient-centered environment.
Safety: Follow National Patient Safety Goals, utilize safe transfer techniques, and ensure patient identification using two identifiers.
Unit Specific Functions: Demonstrate knowledge of conditions, diagnoses, procedures, and equipment specific to surgical patients.
Responsibility and Accountability: Prioritize patient care based on needs and condition changes, contributing to the perioperative team.
Patient Education and Chart Completion: Assess patient understanding and provide pre-operative and postoperative education.
Duties Specific to PAT RN: Support timely completion of patient testing and evaluate Pre Admission Testing orders for appropriateness.

Skills and Requirements

1 year experience in Critical Care, Cardiac, or Emergency Department
BLS, RN License, ACLS required
PALS required for pediatric ER only

Education

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred
