Job Purpose:
Support ACT's aspiration to double the number of lives we save by
driving continuous improvement, innovation, and operational
excellence across ACT and all supporting functions. This role plays
a crucial part in realizing this ambition and aligns with the
overarching goal of the ACT Business Excellence function to
optimize processes, ensure quality, and foster a culture of
excellence and collaboration within our decentralized matrix
organization.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Operations Leadership: Lead the development and execution of
operations strategies across ACT, ensuring alignment with ACT's
strategic goals. Foster a culture that encourages creative thinking
and the exploration of new ideas.
- Functional Leadership: Provide functional leadership to all PA
Operations and Purchasing Directors across ACT, with a dotted line
reporting structure. Establish clear governance, continuously
develop the team, and implement necessary initiatives to strengthen
operations and mitigate supplier, material, and factory risk across
the organization.
- Process Improvement and Implementation: Take responsibility for
ensuring that ACT adopts best practices in operations, with a focus
on continuous process improvements, standardization, and
harmonization. Build strong relationships with key functions across
ACT and Getinge to support the successful implementation of
operations initiatives. Enhance collaboration and ensure that
processes are aligned and efficient.
- ACT governance of operational activity and operations
initiatives: Oversee and participate in the ACT governance of
combined operational activity (standard reviews, purchasing
specific forums & responsible sourcing, S&OP, IT operations
activity, Manufacturing Excellence (Lean), digital application
implementation) and operations initiatives and programs. Engage the
ACT MT as needed through the VP of Business Excellence.
- Collaboration: Work closely with ACT PA Heads of Operations and
Purchasing to challenge and refine ways of working. Focus on both
incremental and major initiatives to drive continuous, ensuring
that customer needs remain at the core of all activities. Establish
effective interfaces with other key functions within and external
to ACT to enhance collaboration and streamline efforts. Collaborate
with Operations leads from other Business Areas within Getinge to
drive synergies.
- Objectives and KPIs: Set and monitor joint objectives and KPIs
to drive alignment and continuous improvement in ACT's operations
processes. Ensure operations efforts are effectively contributing
to the overall business success.
- Leadership in Steering Committees and established Councils as
well as M&A activity: Serve as ACT Operations expert to
appropriate corporate level forums including Supply Chain Service
activity (e.g. Logistics, Purchasing, Manufacturing Excellence), IT
initiatives and projects, Sustainability/ESG forums (including
escalation forums), and cross-Business Area initiatives. Represent
and makes decisions in ACT's best interests and use acquired
insights to strengthen the ACT's value proposition and drive
strategic growth through operations activity. Support M&A
activity as required.
- Reporting: Actively participate in the Business Excellence
Team, contributing to and supporting key strategic initiatives
within the broader business context.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
- Strategic Vision: Proven ability to develop and execute a
forward-thinking operations strategy that aligns with both the
Getinge and ACT strategic goals.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills in
guiding and influencing cross-functional teams. Experience in
managing teams within a decentralized and matrixed
organization.
- Change Management: Strong track record in creating tangible
results and driving change in a complex, dynamic environment.
Ability to navigate and lead through ambiguity, fostering
adaptability and resilience within the team.
- Business Acumen: Expertise in formulating and executing
strategic plans that drive business results. A strong understanding
of financial principles and their application in managing
operational requirements and operations initiatives.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Exceptional ability
to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and
external stakeholders. Skilled in fostering collaboration across
various functions to achieve goals.
- Risk Management: Proficiency in identifying, assessing, and
mitigating risks associated with operations activities. Experience
in making informed decisions that balance operations with
regulatory and commercial considerations.
- Resource Allocation: Ability to work closely with Product Area
VPs and Product Area Operations and Purchasing leaders to manage
the operations initiatives portfolio effectively. Skilled in
prioritizing projects and making appropriate resource allocation
requests to maximize impact and efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement Culture: Strong capability in
cultivating a work environment that encourages creativity,
risk-taking, and continuous improvement. Ability to inspire and
lead teams toward a shared vision of operations
excellence.
- Educational Background: University degree in engineering, or a
related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 10-15 years of progressive leadership
experience within the technology or med-tech industries.
- Language and Technical Proficiency: Fluency in English, with
excellent communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office tools,
particularly in Project, PowerPoint, and Excel, to effectively
manage and present innovation projects.
Salary range: $230,000 - 275,000 + 35% bonus (depending on
experience and location)
